My votes would be Maryland and Delaware. They may have been Southern at one time but today it is pretty hard to debate them being more like the South than the Northeast from most aspects.

Man, I swear DC and MD claim to be so north now, more north than the north.
I give credit where credit is due but the north were doing things they're
doing now eons before them.

How many times do we have to go through this same BS with the same states. Look it up. This has been discussed ad nauseam. Enough already.

I think we should throw in Alaska too while we're at it, and maybe Florida.

Easy solution is for the census bureau to quit defining regions based on state lines and define regions based on demographics and economics.

I kind of agree with this. Missouri is not completely southern, but its more southern than Midwestern. Historically its a slave state, and while it technically stayed in the union it contributed to the confederacy. Also the confederacy claimed it. Today the area is a transistional area, but more southern than Midwestern. The far northern parts of the state tilt more toward the Midwest, but even there you can find some southern influence. The southern parts of the state, especially the bootheal are completely southern. It does make sense to move it IMO.
