You must remember that the South has a lot of black folks who tend to vote democratic. Nothing wrong with that...I'm just stating what I believe is fact.
lots of blacks tend to vote democratic in the north....
@fred: I think you need to read your own declaration of independence before you affirm things like that -- yes, democratic governments make those rights applicable, but what the state gives it can also take away. That's why the founders of your country were Christians and believed rights came from God.

If you don't like what I have to say or feel tired, then don't read it. I am from Spain although I have lived in the US for a very long time and am bilingual -- perhaps you should take up the study of a different language, you might even learn something worthwhile.
You can't always go by Democrat/Republican to tell if a place is Liberal or Conservative. The county I live in voted around 60% for Kerry & Obama, but I would never consider this place very liberal. The county is also 50% Black. Black people tend to vote Democrat, but they are very socially conservative. And there are also a lot of rural white Southerners who are socially conservative but vote Democrat. My dad's side of the family is like that.

Florida is pretty bad for liberals outside of South Florida, Orlando and Tampa.
Southwest Florida, Interior Florida and the Panhandle are all very conservative.
Trust me.... I drove through a little town, and there was a party and barbeque in downtown the day after the election to celebrate the passage of Amendment 2. It passed with about 90% of the vote in that county.
It doesn't really matter what state you are in, if you are far removed from a big city, then it isn't going to be liberal friendly. There are a few exceptions to this, but not many. Utah, Alabama, and Oklahoma would be the worst in my opinion.
Am I the only one who's tired of posters like "canovas" getting on here and posting a viewpoint that is supposedly from Europe in an American dialect?
No, you're not. But I guess it's up to the mods to do something about it.
