I've never actually visited Alaska, though, just been mildly obsessed with it at times. If I were to remove it, #5 would be Rhode Island.

I like my current state but if I had to move it would be:
1. South Dakota
2. Minnesota
3. Michigan
4. Wisconsin
5. Illinois

I like long cold winters and South Dakota would win out because of the Black Hills. But I can say North Dakota has been my favorite state to live in.
