Just wondering what everyone thinks. In my opinion it would be California followed by Oregon, Montana, and Maine. I apologize for making the poll so long but I didn't want to forget any states that people might see as beautiful but I don't.
I set up the poll so that you can only vote for one state.

I think beauty is way too personalized. I know people who think the flat plains and wide open spaces of western Kansas are beautiful and care nothing about rugged coastlines or mountain vistas.
New York . Mountains upon mountains in every direction . Forests and rolling hills , lakes rivers and streams and waterfalls with mountains as a backdrop . Farm land and valleys .
Surprised to see so much love for Virginia, what am i missing? I must have driven through the state 12 times and never saw anything spectacular. is the western end of the state any better?
For me its Washington. I have only been there once (Seattle) but the scenery was amazing. The Snow covered Volcano's, Olympic National Park, The Puget sound. The heavy moss growing on everything. Really hard to beat.
California is my second favorite, I think that state is always the obvious winner because it runs almost the entire length of Pacific seacoast and has so much variation in geography
Third place would have to be my home state of New Hampshire, from the seacoast to the lakes region to the white mountains, a small state that offers a lot and the colonial history is another aspect of it that you don't get out west.

Yah I agree. I'm not trying to hate on Virgina but I don't understand what it offers that other east coast states don't. I don't see how it compares to the vast landscapes of the west. I also think that places like Vermont or New York offer better fall foliage along with more interesting mountains. I have driven down I-81 and it was beautiful just not the most beautiful in the US.
