Interesting. Mine showed an incorrect coat-of-arms, however. Then again, I have a pretty common surname and there are probably multiple origin points.

I already had mine traced (actually an aunt did it) and it simply confirmed most of what she had thought: most of mom's line is Scottish from the Western Isles. What the test did show is we are Ulster Scot / Scotch Irish, so our line is 99% Celtic, whereas many Isle Scots are 50/50 Celtic and Norweigan.

Supposedly I am a direct descentant of several early (400s AD) Irish kings and a warrior who fought and died at the Battle of Bannockburn (the decisive battle in the Scottish War for Independence), and the musicians for many of the Scottish kings

My first ancestor on this line came from Isle of Skye, Scotland

Well, I checked out that Coat of Arms site and it has that my last name is English and that's about it. The crest looked alright also.

I'm a Thompson as well... it says our surname is "distinguished" ha ha

It sounds right, my grandpa said his family came from Scotland... and so does the site...
