Best - Probably the fact that it lags in national trends. The recession came later here than it did everywhere else, as did the housing crash

Worst - Antiquated laws like the ones with liquor

Not really affordable anywhere in the state. That's why people are fleeing it. If something costs a third less upstate NY vs NYC, it's still twice as much as other places because of your NY State Taxaholics.

Best: Variety. VA has the beach and all that brings, and 5 hours away are the Appalachian Mountains and all that comes with them. We've got rural farmland and dense urban cities within 30 mins of each other. There's something for everyone here.

Worst: Humidity.
