Little known fact:

If you drive to Calais on the airline (Route 9) then Calais will be the furthest east you have gone, if you drive to Calais on US 1 then Perry will be the furthest east you have ever been, as you head towards Robbinston you will be headed in a slightly north by northwestern direction. The scenery on either road is spectacular.
