North: Edmonton, AB -- 53.52N
East: New Castle, NH -- 70.71W
South: Tombstone, AZ -- 31.71N (I've been to Tijuana, BC, MX, but Tombstone is further south)

So would going from the US to the Netherlands be going "east" or going "west" to you? Because I would hit KL and Singapore before I hit the date line. To me, anything roughly left Kashmir/the Stans is east and right of Kashmir/the Stans is west, since that is basically on the other side of the world from where I am. That is how I measure it US wise. Left is west, right is east.

Yes, but the way Latitude/Longitude is set up, the 180th meridian is the divider between east and west, which the IDL mostly follows.
So while you may fly west to a destination in Asia/Australia, you end up in the east once you pass 180 degrees.
