Ditto on the above. I mean, just to come on and say you want a small town and you might open a business narrows it down to oh, I dunno... 150+ towns?

sarahegillespie asked the right questions, so you need to be able to establish what type of business, your budget for a home, what you expect or desire out of the community you live in, etc etc etc etc.

I got to agree with those suggesting you narrow your description of what kind of community you seek to live in.
Personally, I find the areas of Northeast Georgia the most beautiful.
Check out Clayton, Ga. I wish I had bought mountain acreage up there 10+
yrs ago it's that beautiful.

Smile Dawson County, GA

Dawson County is a great area. County seat is Dawsonville, a growing small town. Area is only about an hour north of Atlanta, but located in the foothills of the mountains. Amicalola Falls State Park is located there and the eastern county line is Lake Lanier with numerous parks and boat ramps. I have property there and know of more. Good luck with your search.

I moved to Cleveland (White county) 5 years ago, and am in the process of buying an auto repair shop as we speak. My wife works at a hotel in nearby Helen. Look in to chamber of commerce info in cities you are considering. Cleveland has twice the national growth rate, low taxes and great schools. You can buy a 3br 2ba home on an acre for about $130K. The growth potential here is outstanding, and the mountains are beautiful.
