This citizen is flabbergasted at how easy it is to buy an AR-15 in his home state. Many more states are just as easy.

Is this what you want to happen??

And?

The better question is.....

"Shouldn't" it be easy to excercise a right?

I have to jump through a million hoops and wait over a year to get a pistol in NY.

I do hope he realizes that the following applies to the Florida school shooting:
1. Background check? Done, and passed by the shooter, because no reports had been made, even though the FBI had been notified of the danger posed by this guy!
2. Waiting period? He bought the rifle right after his 18th birthday, A YEAR PRIOR TO THE SHOOTING! Any waiting period would have accomplished nothing in prevention.

Yes, exercising a Constitutional Right certainly SHOULD be easy!
The fact that this character was investigating buying an AR-15 or Ar-15 style rifle is meaningless! He could just as well have been trying to buy a Remington Model 742 semi-automatic in .30-06 caliber, or a Browning semi-automatic in 7mm Magnum. Those would be actual high-powered rifles, not some little aluminum and plastic .22 caliber ugly thing.

The guy is an idiot. It doesn’t matter how easy or fast you can get the gun. What matters is your being qualified. Freedom means being treated as innocent until you are not. If freedom is too hard for him he should move to Russia.

The constitution is always right...

-except for slavery, lets's amend it and fix that
-also, black people should be able to vote, let's amend it and fix that
-oh, and women need to vote too, let's amend it and fix that
-people really seem to like their alcohol, let's repeal that amendment and fix that
-4th term president? Not a good idea, let's amend it and fix that

I really do not understand why people don't get this.

Well I'm glad that slavery is now abolished by the Constitution because I'm sure there would be some politicians who would refuse to even talk about amending the Constitution if it still were legal in 2018 because their "rights" are being trampled by not being able to own and trade slaves without regulation.

Ok. Where's the proposed amendment to ban some or all firearms, as some are hopeful of accomplishing?

No, not easy. Not easy at all. Buying a gun is buying a device to kill humans with.

Besides a pistol has limited hunting ability. Not a "militia" weapon by any definition at all.
