Ridiculous statement. IF wealth taxes were instituted it would be for additional revenue. If society at large benefits from this, then the wealthier classes will also benefit, as they also need/want an orderly society to do business in.

Exactly big business should realize that if we get Universal Healthcare they will be able to hire more people and not have to worry about only hiring them part time so that they can bypass having to offer them a healthcare plan.

Citizens should care because right now many Walmart employees qualify for Medicaid where all their doctor, hospitals and medications are paid for, unlimited, at taxpayer expense anyway. If we get UH at least it will lower costs and standardize prices so that they don't charge someone $1K one month and $20K the next for the same service. Also drug prices can be negotiated and brought down, and we can end the pantant games they play where they tweak a medication before it's up to be generic so they can keep it costing more.

Private insurance is great if you don't need to use it. Then when you do you have the deductibles, co pays things that are not covered, out of network charges and then run into "pre existing condition" clauses.

You keep talking about Universal Healthacare; can you afford the taxes that go along with UH?

UH sounds all well and good until you see how much it costs (taxes out of your paycheck) oh, wait... you don’t have a paycheck. So, can you afford to pay those taxes out of your ‘income’? I mean it’s only fair that we all pay our fair share of taxes, right??

I sure can afford them. How do you know what I have? and I know what you are because you told me that you think you are better than others and should only live among the elites.

The answer to that question is quite simple:

Federal outlays surged to 20.9% of GDP from 20.2% the previous year. That's why.

Oh - the deficit is NOT "...over a trillion this year." It is $984 Billion. It was expected to exceed a trillion, but an unexpected surge in corporate income taxes paid in September brought it down to $984B. That doesn't detract from your point that the number is huge, but let's use the right number.

Close enough and it's the highest in 7 years and only because he were recovering from Bush Jr's disastrous ruining of the economy.

Well... let's see... I'm posting the following as an image rather than text. Why? When I attempt to post it as text, I run into an Apache Server error for some reason.

For tax year 2018 regarding individual federal income taxes paid:

• The Top 1% paid a total of 43% of ALL Personal Federal Income Taxes Paid
• The Top 20% paid a total of 87% of ALL Personal Federal Income Taxes Paid
• The Bottom 60% paid a total of 4% of ALL Personal Federal Income Taxes Paid

The share of Personal (Individual) Federal Income Taxes Paid by the Top 1% is higher than it has ever been. Period.

It clearly torpedoes the political rhetoric on the extreme left who claim the wealthy get special breaks and loopholes and avoid paying taxes altogether.
