Is this the location across from Westgate Mall next to the Best Buy? Are there any Long John Silver's remaining in the Upstate? And what happened to the return of Captn. D's?

Also apparently Long John Silver's has separated from A&W and they are no longer cobranding locations. New independent A&W stores were announced for Rock Hill and Gastonia, but not sure about the Upstate.

No. The East Blackstock Road location, a Long John Silver's/A&W, remains open. The Garner Road location was off North Pine Street.

Captain D's did not learn its lessons from its previous attempt in how to operate properly. I assume Captain D's was not serious about being in the area. Oh well.

It's odd that Captain D's can't seem to make a run in Greenville and Spartanburg counties. There is one in Greenwood that has been operating over 40 years. It's excellent. Through numerous remodels it's still going strong. I actually prefer them over LJS. I like their baked potato side option and hushpuppies. You can even get fried okra as a side .

Oh yes, I know that location. Sorry to see it go. And apparently the Blackstock location is still cobranded with A&W, although they are no longer co-owned by Yum Brands. And that Blackstock A&W is apparently the only A&W remaining in SC. Previous plans for new standalone A&W locations in Rock Hill and Gastonia have not yet materialized, perhaps delayed by the pandemic.
