I'm not sure what's taking the place of The Castle on LeGrand Blvd., but there's been a ton of work going on over there recently, including a Coca-Cola crew apparently setting some stuff up today. Presumably something's going to happen there very soon.
Will it be another gay club or a different venue? Seems like a major void since Castle has closed, leaving Asheville, Charlotte, or Atlanta as a nightlife option.

If you want people to come to your restaurant don't put a big hairy bearded pic on your restaurant page on facebook. Just think how much of that neckbeard is getting into your food!

For a few years, the Mutt's BBQ in Mauldin had rebranded as Smitty's Country Cooking and Catering. Now it's back to being a Mutt's. I believe this changed in just the past couple of weeks. Not sure if it's the same owners (the folks who originally ran it as Mutt's also ran it as Smitty's) or what.

Recently it seems like Smittys consistency was lacking. The pork and sauces were still good, but everything seemed to be hit or miss. Sometimes good, sometimes mediocre. I used to go there pretty regularly until quality started going down. Pretty much just been going to Buckys lately for BBQ, I've never left there unsatisfied.

Default Hardee's/Red Burrito, Pelham Road at East North Street, Greenville, South Carolina

Charbroiled thickburgers will soon be served at a Hardee's/Red Burrito locating on Pelham Road at East North Street. ("Hardee's (Greenville, South Carolina)". LDI-Line.)

This is surprising since they closed a nearby location right down the street on Pleasantburg near East North Street a few years ago. And that store was a nice building that had been renovated. I believe it may be a payday loan, cash advance facility now. But this new Hardee's location may be a bit closer to apartments and residential areas on Pelham Rd. Their closest competitor should be the Jack in the Box on Pleasantburg near East North Street, which is a high performing store.

The Hardee's previously located at 947 North Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville, South Carolina 29607-1626 replaced two locations: 1547 North Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville, South Carolina 29609-4017, now Pizza City; and 1601 Laurens Road, Greenville, South Carolina 29607-2906, which had undergone an early 1990's remodel prior to the replacement.

The 947 North Pleasantburg Drive location was open briefly for several years before closing in the mid 1990's. I think the location was unable to pull business from the two distant trade areas its predecessors served.

I would like to see Hardee's return some of the Carl's Jr. signature sandwiches to their menu. The Superstar with Cheese and the Big Carl. (Big Twin). Thin patty double burgers charbroiled with special sauce. The Superstar moniker corresponds with the Carl's Jr. Happy Star logo which was added to the Hardee's signage. And it would be great to see Hardee's return the Roy Rogers fried chicken to their menu, but they may no longer have the rights to use that recipe.
