Another year gone by, another milestone. I've been re-reading the emails I printed out from both Bob's and my computers right after he died. Most of them are dull, like "Got the car insurance bill for the Aerostar. Looks like it's about $60 less this time". Very mundane, but there are a few tear-inducing gems. The last night, Sunday the 25th, we were on the phone and emailing at the same time. It was a happy, but ordinary evening and we did say "I love you" to each other when we hung up and signed off. Little did either of us know, those would be the last words we'd say to each other....
(((HUGS))), Marcy. Your Bob is as close as your memories. Little comfort, I know but Bob sounds like he was a great guy and you know you were so very lucky to have him for a while. Stay strong, my friend.

I second what Tami wrote. Besides your memories and items you may have saved Marcy, you never know when the part of Bob that continues to live on will check on you next.
You've done well rebuilding your life, Marcy. You've helped many feel welcome and able to open up for perhaps the first time or express their thoughts or feelings at a deeper level.
It is never easy to remember them on the anniversary of their death . My college roommates anniversary has just passed and it has been almost 22 yrs ago and it still hurts like it was yesterday . But I remember the phone call like it was yesterday too . 2 am and my other college roommate told me that she had been killed and it was the other persons fault . She was killed by a drunk driver . We will always remember her with gladness and happiness . I remember the first day I met her , I was so scared it was my first time in a new state and far from home and she was my saving grace that first year . I called her that because her name was Grace . She told me I was strong and i would make it and i did and I am just sad I will never see her in this life again ....we are so lucky to have had a bob and a grace , we have to remember that . God bless you marcy and God bless the rest of us and hope we all have a long and fruitful life .

Marcy, I'm sorry for this great loss in your life!
I hope that in time there will be nothing but happy memories left for you to smile about.

Thanks, everyone. It wasn't as hard as I anticipated. I puttered around the house, played with the puppy, got a call from my oldest daughter and just took it easy. It's almost sad that it passed so easily.
