We live in Wilkes Barre City, Pa. and I was assaulted two times in three days and sustained injuries to my face head and jaw. I am fed up. I went to Dicks Sporting Goods today and want your opinion. I was told to either go to the Court and get a "concealed weapon" permit and carry a firearm or purchase a Mossberg Personal defense shot gun which you can load three shells at once.
I am new to guns and need as much help as possible. Thanks, Warren Zee.
Were these incidents home invasions? On the street? What events led up to the assaults? Before resorting to deadly force you might want to examine REASONS for the assaults. Without more details it is difficult to give good advice. A firearm is always the LAST option.
get some firearms training, a 2 pistols for you and the wife, a couple of civilianized military lookalike rifles(misnamed assault rifles), a couple of shotguns and do practice with all of the above.
3 times in a week, do you not watch or not aware of your surroundings? I would move if possible. How are the laws if you do get a CCW? Some places if you do not take a beating that almost kills you before using deadly force you are going to court. I live in Florida and if I have any reasonable belief my life or others is in danger [not loud music in a car] then I have a reasonable right to use force. But you have to use your head first, I have walked all over NOLA and never had a problem, I watch where I am gong, who is around me and don't try to get into trouble.
I don't believe in trying to stand my ground just because I have a gun. First order of business is to not get into the situation in the first place. Second is to get away from it if I do happen to get into it and third is to use force only if needed. I was told by an instructor many years ago, that if you use force just expect to go to court and pay up the waaazoo for an attorney.
