Jacob, City-Data has information pages on all of the states and cities within them. Go look up Honolulu and read the weather stats. The temperatures in the winter are about 5 degrees cooler than in the summer. Note that people on the Big Island who live above 4,000 feet do get temperatures at night in the 30's.
Uhhh Hawaii is a tropical island.... why would one need to even ask if it's going to be "cold?"
Because, in fact, it does get cold in Hawai'i, sometimes and somewheres. The Big Island encompasses 11 of the 13 climate zones of the world, from arrid desert to arctic tundra. The coldest temperature ever recorded on the Big Island was 16 F, and by the end of next month the evening temps here in Volcano, on the Puna side, will be in the 40s,
And that's just normal stuff, nevermind the unusual cold snap the OP seems to be experiencing.
