You cant produce any links that agree with you. Hmm.. who has been deceived here...
He won’t read them because they’re all simply the product of a vast, socialist conspiracy hell bent on
taking away personal freedoms, so why bother?

Clearly our schools failed him in the subjects of science, logic and debate in school because he’s struck out on all three in this thread.

FYI, I pretty much agree with you that attempting to get rid of fossil fuel is not realistic. There would be huge pain with drastic cuts, maybe worse than what happens with the climate change itself. But you cant even start a conversation or come up with a plan with someone who is likely to have been deceived by fossil fuel industries marketing. And.. I understand why the fossil fuel industry would do this and can you really blame them.. just fighting for life. Although I do hope that if the intentional deception makes things worse, that whomever was involved in the deception can be held financially liable for losses caused.

I have kids.. and I worry for them. I will be gone before anything really bad happens (unless my house gets burned up in a forest fire).

Note. of course its been warmer in the past and we have had "ice ages" or glacier and inter-glacier periods. If you want to go into detail on that and the really wild dots that need to be connected (like from 130K years ago to present day.. that is a really long dot connection LOL).. we can.. Old stuff so hopefully we can skip that.
Do you have any idea how flimsy of a debate tactic it is to be demanding links for everything one states, and then confusing won't with can't, is?

My observations and statements stand on their own. I don't need to link to somebody's propaganda as you seemingly need/want. Besides, I didn't learn them from the Internet, I learned them over decades of observation of various and sundry reference media, probably some before you were born.

As far as "fossil fuel industries marketing" goes, I really can't say. I've never seen such a thing except for Chevron with Techron ads, or other purely-marketing offerings. Ads that try to get you to buy their brand over someone else's brand. I've never seen or heard any other "material" from energy companies, and always wonder what people are referring to when they mention that. It's a complete blank with me. I watch very little TV, and almost always when my wife watches something, and I watch along (like the Country Music Awards last night), and usually it is just background for me. I'm old school and enjoy watching British comedies such as Dad's Army, Yes Minister and the like. Also shows like Sherlock Holmes (Basil Rathbone, in particular), Combat with Vic Morrow, 12 o'clock High, Hogan's Heroes and similar shows (which I watch on YouTube), so I must be missing these ads and offerings you refer to. Your assumption that I saw, and was influenced by, them was incorrect.

BTW, when you are talking about climatic changes, you can't skip "that" even if it doesn't suit you. Real science doesn't work that way, although the faux stuff may.

The earth and its climate will do what it will do. Our influence is minimal if not infinitesimal, and the same sorts of things we see happening now, have happened many many times, perhaps millions of times, before in the past. It is neither unusual or problematical for the earth (although it may be new to us with our limited scope of reference).

As I see it, nothing but a virtually-complete stoppage of the combustion of carbon-containing fuels will make even a measurable or even theoretical difference, and it would be tiny indeed when superimposed on the naturally-occuring change that happens constantly in a climatic time frame which would continue on unabated.

Aloha, and I would thank you for not dragging thie discussion into the sewer will shallow, transparently-camouflaged insults as the other "participant" has seen fit to do on a proactive basis..

I note that you have NOTHING substantial or meaningful to add.

Not to toot my own horn, but I went to a private, exclusive and excellent High School and have both a Bachelors and Master degrees in Science (BS and MS). Looks like you struck out on all counts, but I am not surprised, in the least.

Aloha

Sorry Openly Delusional, I'm not buying gasoline anymore, and I'm not buying your line of kukae, Sell it over on Breitbart.
Awesome! That’s a lot of up front expense so obviously you’re not doing this to save money on gas.

I am buying a solar fridge and all the related stuff to run it.
Probably a money losing proposition, given how much I will be using it
and my limited remaining lifespan.
But, no more burning propane.

I summarized your crackpot theory for him, which is all you’ve polluted my thread with.

Whatever. Get back to me in 20 (if you are still around) and let me know how the global warming is going. I'll wager, it will have been forgotten for 10 of those years.

You guys remind me of this guy, a Holy Roller, on the radio who said he studied the bible very, very carefully and was certain that the apocalypse would be on such and such day (about 5 years ago). People sent him their lifesavings, since they were convinced it was going to be the end.

Well, the appointed day came and sent with no issues. The guy kept the money and ran. Your side are like the people who sent in the money. The "scientists" are like the guy who scared everybody with his dire predictions and I am the callers to his show that said he was full of it and asked if the apocalypse didn't come, would he return the money.

You are being played for the highest stakes around - your Freedom - which will be taken bit by bit by this and other scams, all flying under the flag of "it's for your own good", or the like. Honorable and decent-sounding pretense but is nothing more than that.

Aloha

Just curious. Do you believe global warming will have ended within the next 10 years? (Whether manmade or natural). My impression is that it will be with us for decades even if it is just a natural warming cycle.

This thread has devolved into content that is better suited to P&OC.
