earlier this week i had a stuffy nose and sore throat which turned into a low grade fever(100.7). after taking a Coricidin BP dose i am now at 99.2. how long does the Coricidin take effect till it wears off? I took it at about 1AM today and now it's 12 hours later

not sure if the illness is getting better or the Coricidin hasn't worn off yet

my appetite was still fairly good

does this sound like the flu or a sinus infection?

Does not sound like the flu. The flu will make your whole body ache for days and you will usually have a much higher fever. Don't you have the directions for the Coricidin BP? If not, why not? I'd be surprised if that pill lasts more than 4 hours but I do not know.

I went to the clinic Friday after suffering with an off and on sore throat for at least a week. I'm currently taking antibiotics for what they said was a sinus infection but I don't think that is what it was. I've had many of them and I didn't have all of the symptoms I've had before but that persistent sore throat. After almost 3 full days of taking that I'm feeling better now.

the Coricidin package doesn't tell you how long it lasts for. the temp keeps veering between normal and 100.2. last week i had an irritated throat and had my ear drained of fluid and wax buildup. maybe there's an infection? is a sinus infection dangerous or will it go away on it's own?

It should tell you how often to take it...that is how long it lasts. Keep looking; it has to be there! If its a sinus infection you need antibiotics. I'd suggest a trip to the doctor.

Not every doctor will give you antibiotics for sinus infection. They want you to try, on your own, to get rid of it first. Some simple things to do: get a hot shower, try nose spray, use a neti pot, take decongestants, use a hot towel on your head, spray some salt water into your nose, drink lots of fluids, rest, use a humidfier, and eliminate stress (ha ha).

I try all of this for about a week. Then I go to the clinic (walgreens) and get an antibiotic. Two days later, I feel lots better.

Doesn't sound like either. I'd see a doctor to determine what it is you have. I usually get 2-3 sinus infections a year and this sounds like an URI or maybe a head cold.
