Some troubling stuff:

"The lack of oversight leaves consumers like John Coolidge, 55, of Signal Mountain, Tenn., vulnerable. He started taking a supplement called Total Body Formula to improve his general health. But instead, he says, beginning in February 2008, he experienced one symptom after another: diarrhea, joint pain, hair loss, lung problems, and fingernails and toenails that fell off. "It just tore me up," he said."

But the point and information is not about any one person. Just because something didn't affect me, I know it may affect others.

Oh, we should just forget about the 100,000 that die from drug interactions annually? Yes, probably people get issues from supplements but many die from drugs, my daughter was on life support due to drug interactions. I was in the ER with stomach ulcer from a drug...these are just two people I know who had drug interactions and one ended up on life support. My sister has declined horribly from massive drugs for MS. 3 family members including myself.

What do you think happens to folks who DON'T take medications for MS??

They also decline horribly...

MS is a slowly PROGRESSIVE neurologic disorder....people don't decline from MS because of the medications they take....they decline from MS because of MS

I know of MS patients who are not declining like my sister. Montel Williams works with MAJOR nutrition. Ann Romney another. A friend I have has MS and she is not bombarded with mega drugs like my sister has allowed her doctors to pump into her body. My sister does not talk, cannot feed herself and she has not walked in years....BUT all the drugs were supposed to STOP the progression. B.S. I say.

Nutrition is major with these diseases and sugar/carbs are the killers....do the docs preach this. Probably not, they just offer new toxic drugs that are more expensive than the others. She talked about the high cost of the drugs and they came up with the money to "try them"...more trys....

I had her come to visit a nutritionist about MS and foods and my sister just didn't listen, she listened MORE to the MS specialists...yes I'm very very "pi**ed". But, I have to keep in my mind "we all have choices and we all have our path"......

The medicine did not cause her symptoms to be worse, they just didn't work at slowing her decline.

I'm very sorry, it must be hard to watch. I would do anything to save my sister in that situation.

How do You know the medicine did NOT make her MS progress? These toxin drugs are just that toxic.
You have not watched her decline and more and more drugs added along the way....not better nutrition.

I've watched this long battle and you know how I feel about more and more drugs. I tried to help SAVE her along the way but there comes a time to just back off. I don't have the POWER of the MD's she kept going to.

I'm on another health group with a pretty large MS group and many take LDN for MS and I presented that idea to my sister and she ignored me...it's a very very inexpensive medicine. Some of her drugs cost upwards of $25K+.

On the LDN I mentioned above, it's very inexpensive and is a script but my hunch is that the big mucky muck specialists would not push a cheap medicine. They go for the $25K variety.

I know many are doing well on LDN and there are even support groups for MS and LDN.

Just an FYI for anyone who may know someone dealing with MS.

I told my friend about it a couple yrs ago and she went right to it. She deals with MS and does so much of her own research and healing.

Could be those with RA benefit with LDN. I took it before hip replacement to try all I could to NOT do the surgery, but OA for the most part is not autoimmune. Tried it 6 months and no help FOR ME.
