No, because testosterone wouldn't be an issue. I get what you're saying though because women are often told that it's all in their mind.

I still think that with a cyst and an allergic reaction there's more going on than a psychologist can help. So I definitely agree about getting a second opinion, allergy testing, something else because the OP needs to find the cause of those issues. That's not to say the there could also be depression going on either as a separate issue or part of the issue.

No charge for the free medical advice, but, seriously, this is a very common cause of those symptoms. (Ask your internet doctor).
I have posted so much and especially in Alt Med on how our own DHEA levels start declining at 20-30 yrs of age....I was tested by my first integrative MD and sure enough declining...I've been taking it for close to 20 yrs...helps elevate testosterone for all of us.

I'd stop the prescription drugs instead. Too many hazardous side effects. And they do nothing to address underlying causes. Good luck. You're doing some things correctly. Like diet and nutrition. Add more exercise and sleep. And again, no drugs if possible.

Did you read the link? The combination of 5 HTP and St. John's wort can be dangerous. It also does not seem to be helping the OP, who is concerned because she is sleeping too much. How is more sleep supposed to help her? She does not report taking any prescription drugs at this point.

  • "Side effects. Most side effects are mild, like headache, fatigue, insomnia, and congestion. Because DHEA affects hormone levels, it can cause other symptoms. Women may have abnormal periods, acne, or mood changes. They might also take on masculine characteristics, such as facial hair or a deeper voice. Men might develop more breast tissue, high blood pressure, and other problems.
  • Risks. Using high doses of DHEA may not be safe. People who have heart problems, liver disease, diabetes, high cholesterol, thyroid problems, polycystic ovary syndrome, and a history of clotting problems should not use DHEA. DHEA may increase the risk of some cancers that are affected by hormones, like cancers of the breast, ovaries, and prostate."

Yeah yeah, I could post at least 10 positive links on this depleting hormone in our bodies. But I won't...if one is interested they can do their own work. I've only been taking it about 20 yrs and I'm still very much a woman. And don't look close to my age, I'm told by all who know me.

And the two worlds speaking: allopathic vs holistic/integrative

I'm 30 y/o but I feel 70. I recently developed a lump on my throat. The doctor tested my thyroid levels and took an ultrasound and said my test results came back normal and from the ultrasound it looks like a cyst, nothing to be worried about. I exercise on a regular basis and eat pretty healthy. I don't eat processed sugars or a lot of junk food. I meal prep a lot of my own food.. I make soup, stews, salads, chicken and vegetables, etc. I also take 5HTP and St. John's Wort, fish oil and other vitamins.

I don't understand why I sleep for 12 hours sometimes and when I wake up, I just want to lay in bed and mope. I have to force myself to get up out of bed and when I get to work, I've been drinking 2 cups of coffee just to boost my mood so I can talk to people. I have no motivation and I get stressed out quite easily, even by a text message or meeting friends. I get stressed about running around and usually arrive late. I just want to do nothing and lay in bed. I don't even like sexual pleasures anymore. I don't feel sad though. I just feel drained.

Not sure if this is related, but I recently developed a shrimp/iodine allergy. Never had it before but it recently popped up... I don't get an anaphylactic reaction but I get a skin rash on my neck around the area where the lump is. I have also noticed that when I eat, it feels like there's still food in my throat/nose 2-3 hours after I eat.

Not sure if this is a chemical imbalance from depression causing all this or another medical condition that isn't showing up on the tests but this doesn't feel normal... I'm really struggling with the quality of my life even though the papers say everything is fine. I think someone here mentioned that their thyroid levels also came back normal but they knew something was off. I can't remember what they did about it next. Any suggestions from similar experience are welcome. Thanks.

Oh yeah, I am scheduled to see a psychiatrist next week so I'll have to mention to her about what's going on.

A cyst, nothing to be worried about?. You need to get rid of that cyst ASAP.

You my friend are in trouble and need to fix this. Your adrenal glands are down, you have systemic acidosis, your endocrine system is weak, your neurotransmitters are low etc. etc. etc.

First and foremost you need to eliminate caffeine. Its a neurotoxin. You will start to feel a little better in 2-3 weeks but it will take 3 months before hormone levels can return to normal. I would stop drinking it on Friday as the second and third days are the worst. You will probably sleep all weekend.

Stop all supplements.

Your body is extremely acidic and it is damaging cells. You can go back through my posts and get an idea of what I am on about but you need someone that is an expert at explaining how detoxification is the thing that can get your body to rebuild and regenerate its damaged tissue. A cyst on your thyroid gland today means at some point they may want to cut it out and then you will be on synthetic thyroid hormone for the rest of your life.

Check out this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMnEQOpgDrw
and contact his office. If you have no money they will usually treat patients for free.

The basic protocol will be going on a 100% raw food (mostly fruit) diet. Some people cannot do this right away and will need to transition.

You must eliminate all dairy, cheese and meats. No protein, other that what is found naturally found in fruits and vegetables

Immediately get yourself a juicer and start making Lemon Ginger Blasts (Goggle it). These will help up your energy level as you are going to feel very sick for the first days or weeks after coming off of coffee. Also adrenal glandular capsules can be helpful for a short period of time to help support your adrenal glands. Try to drink 1 to 2 quarts of the LGB or other green juice daily.

After a few weeks you will probably feel somewhat better. At that time its easy to fall back into your old ways. Hopefully you can stick with it and get your joy back as it takes time to rebuild and regenerate.

Making the green juice can be a lot of work. It would be great if you had a friend or family member to help you as you need to pound down the green juice and fruit and get lots of rest.

You can post your questions and get additional group support help on Facebook @ Fans of Dr. Robert Morse ND

The good news is that good health, energy and vitality are easy to obtain.

I have no financial interest or otherwise in the work of Dr. Robert Morse ND or Facebook @ Fans of Dr. Robert Morse ND. I am just a student and a fan.

Long time depression sufferer here. After taking meds for many years, and having to change them when they became ineffective, etc., also gaining tons of weight, cholesterol and bp through the roof, then put on meds for those, and having bad side-effects.....I finally said enough is enough. Quit all meds and decided to try a vegan diet. I had researched how to lower cholesterol naturally and a whole food, plant based diet looked like something I could try and there was lots of scientific research to show it worked to lower cholesterol, etc.

By the way, fish oil is straight fat, and high in calories. Bad for cholesterol and weight. Even plant oils are not good for cholesterol, etc., including olive oil. It's like eating 1,000 olives every time you consume a tablespoon. It's too much fat and even olive oil can cause heart problems, so it's a myth it's heart healthy. Better than lard, sure, but still not good.

Anyway, changing my diet and going off all meds and supplements made all the difference in the world for me. Turns out, it has also improved my depression.

I also quit caffeine per the suggestion by a counselor, because I also have anxiety. Finally got off caffeine recently, too, and that's made a big difference.

For sleep, try Andrew Johnson's meditation apps. He's a Scottish man with the kindest voice. The apps are only $3.00 each or you can buy a bundle. I bought one through the App Store. He has some free stuff on YouTube if you want to check him out:

Good luck.

I agree 100%

After 3 heart attacks President Bill Clinton's heart specialist put him on a veg diet and NO OIL. Use no oil whatsoever he advises. No more heart attacks for Bill. I think he misses those Sausage McMuffins w/Egg.
