So after making the pom pom hat for my son a month ago, I have been knitting like crazy. Here's what I've finished:
The hat on the left is a Christmas present for my sister, and the black one is for my brother. The one on the bottom was a test of my ability to learn how to do cables, which I am keeping for myself. And of course a Christmas stocking for the baby (which will be decorated eventually.) Next up us to see if I have enough yarn left to make a scarf to match my hat, and while my husband's not home to work on a hat for him as well.
I'm finding knitting to be a great way to unwind for an hour or so after I've gotten the baby to bed and finished my chores. I might keep going and see if I can sell some pieces!
My favorite is the Four Seasons. It's a powerful piece. Was a very difficult piece to paint and finish.
Yes, unfortunately I'm in Nebraska. Like my saying says, "no where Nebraska, especially what I do.
Finished my Christmas knitting - just in time to mail the last piece! Wasn't too happy with the headband for one of my recipients; we'll see what she thinks. I can see why there's not too many patterns for a plain knit headband. The fingerless gloves came out great and I must have given about 7 away this year. Now I don't know what to do with myself evenings! (Guess I could get out that cross stitch poinsettia but I'm putting it off)
Finished our Christmas dinner (a day early because of commitments). I did start back on the poinsettia - can only do it during the day when light is bright or have to set up a big bright light right on the work at night, and that's a big rigamarole. That's the LAST cross stitch on black I'm doing, ever!
I am devastated. My Elna 7000 is non repairable. I am so sad--I have never been without a sewing machine.
Way too many choices out there. In my heart I have always wanted a Bernina.
I feel lost without a working sewing machine in my house. Way back when I made all my own clothes. With fabric shops slowly disappearing I began buying more clothes. In reality--it is less money. I do still enjoy sewing pouches, small quilts, pillows and such.
I am overwhelmed with the choices out there. I only wish all brands were in one place.
