Mending again! I haven't done much mending for a long time. But on Easter I came home with some size 2T little levis that need a couple holes patched. I'm kinda looking forward to it!
I'm almost finished with my quilt top. I put the back together when I was shortening some curtains and hope to finish the top and baste it this weekend.
Mending those little Levis sounds like a great pastime.

I forget the brand name, but since I want to hand quilt it (first time ever, and possibly last) I got a 100% cotton thin batting that's easier to hand quilt through. For machine quilting, I'm really fond of Warm N Natural.
Good luck with the hand quilting! I love quilts with cotton batting, even machine quilted. After they are washed they pucker up and look just like the quilts my grandmother made in the 30's.
The crewel kit I bought from eBay turns out to be from 1977! A few of the colors are a bit faded, but I think it will still look nice when it’s done. No extra charge for the shabby chic, lol.
Yesterday, I had a fun afternoon stitching with 3 other women. I’m in an art group offshoot of the Newcomers Club. Usually, they go to a gallery or museum, and sometimes they make a craft. This month the meeting was to stitch name tags out of fabrics scraps and embroidery floss. I didn’t get finished, but I’ll post a picture later.
Here’s the picture. It was just a quick afternoon handstitch job.

For me- the perfect buttonholes. After the first one, the machines memory remembers the exact measures. So all the buttonholes will be the same.
My old machine had a speed control, so does this one--nice feature.
This has a "start" button--although I still use the foot pedal a lot, the "foot free" is quite useful--once again, with those buttonholes, just hit the start button and the machine will do the rest.
It has a one time button--so when sewing a decorative stitch, if you push that button it will finish the design and stop.
It is a simple machine, perfect for what I need in this time in my life.
