Kansas City is really wanting to get a team. What has happened in the past no longer applies here. We have a new arena and our downtown is being revitalized in a big way. People actually want to go to downtown.
10 years ago, I would of said no way would it work. But, things are different now and I think an NHL team would do well here.
I think KC is a more viable market than Atlanta, Nashville or Florida. I'd like to see another Canadian team but a big city in Canada is only 500,000 people. Hardly big enough to attract the corporate support that the team (and league) desires. KC would be a good fit wit STL, DAL, CHI, MIN. Just like the old Norris division sans DET.
i think it will be a bad move because how many people watch hockey in KC
Does this Tim guy want to buy team?
I was stationed about an hour outside of KC in the 90's and it's a die-hard sports town that has been wanting an NHL team for quite some time. They are very loyal and it would probably be a blessing for the Isles but i'd hate to see them go.I'll miss my Islanders.
True but it would be pretty hilarious if they do keep the name Islanders.
Why would it remain the islanders? Obviously no island in Missouri. When Quebec went to Colorado did they become the Colorado Nordiques? Carolina Whalers?
