I can't STAND it when kitchen cabinets don't go to the ceiling and there is this awkward space on top. That, and having a shower only master are my pet peeves in houses.
IMO, the cabinets are not tall enough for the space and just look like boxes hanging there. Is there any reason for these short cabinets to exist? What am I missing?
My kitchen cabinets have a 20in+ gap at the top. Reason? Because in 1920 they didnt go that high and i dont NEED to change them. They hold stuff, no need to replace.
I love this look, you see it a lot down here. Staggered uppers are really nice, imho.
I like them with the glass doors too. Looks very country French when done in whites/eggshell, even distressed.
Just looking at that makes my blood pressure go up. UGH. I can't stand anything about that kitchen. Wood, counters, weird floor that starts and stops for no reason, lighting, strange double island wrap around. Please make it stop.

I lived in a house built in 1919 and another in 1929. Both had cabinets that were original. Both went all the way to the ceiling. Lovely furniture style cabinets with thick doors and beautiful molding above.
