Is it possible to get rid of the smell of cigarette smoke from a house where previous owners were smokers? If so, what are the methods that work best?
My wife and I found a house we really like except for the smell of cigarette smoke. We were wondering if we could ever get rid of that stink. I have read that it is hard to clear up the smell because the smoke penetrates the walls, ceilings, insulation, a/c ducts, carpet, everything. Is it really that hard to get rid of?
Thanks
There are companies that remove the smell with machinery, think of companies that do air duct cleaning, or clean up after fire and water damage...Carpet Masters, Steam Masters...for smaller areas try ozium spray...found in the car section of Walmart.
Ozone can work (sometimes it works a little, and sometimes more and sometimes not at all). However those home ozone generators do not. You need to generate super high levels of ozone for it to work. Levels that are unsafe to stay in the house during treatment. It also causes the backing of certain types of carpeting to decay, I thik some drapes and furniture also have the same backing, so you have to be careful if you have it done.
I dont know, you have one post, and you are marketing a product.....
