12 - 4 and all of these whining negative Houstonians will find something else to complain about!

I'm going to be optimistic again... and predict they make the playoffs. They let me down every year. They are the home team so I want them to do well, but its the same story every year. Kubiak is a offensive genius, but some of his play calling just boggles me. I think he ran 3 running plays on the goaline when the team didn't make it prior to that.

I think that they start 0-4 as well, but I don't think that McNair kicks Kubiak to the curb after four games if he hasn't fired him already. After getting their noses bloodied with 2 very close losses in the first four, the defense starts to click and play instinctive football and the season turns around.

Stay patient at the outset of the season.

I think they post a 10-6 record and go two-deep in the playoffs (probably losing to the Jets), Kubiak gets an extension and will ultimately lose his gig after the 2012 season.

Lol, you think they finish 10-6 if they start out 0-4. That would mean the Texans would finish 10-2 down the stretch. Wow the Texans have a great propaganda machine(the local media) to have you fooled like that.

6-10 after the first 3 games you will be able to tell how good they will be for the rest of the season

Texans aren't doing a damn thing in free agency it seems. So frustrated with this regime. Should have hired Cowher, a guy who can convince top free agents to play for him. We need Nnamdi bad. Looks like he is going to the Jets, since players want to play for Rex Ryan. Who the hell wants to play for Gary Kubiak?

I do have have higher expectations of Houston this year(higher than usual). Now that our offense has spent some time playing together, and many peaces fit, we should do great. The defence leaves me very worried, sometimes. We really need to go after some secondary players in free agency. I'm glad we have a pretty decent defensive coach now in Wade Phillips. We will see how this goes. Last year we missed some games by a hair, which we shouldn't have.

OK, I will offer my real opinion.
I think the Texans go 9-7 and just miss out on the playoffs again.
They have a good offense, but it's not one of the greatest ever by any means.
If the offense was that good, they would have been able to outscore more opponents and win a couple more games.
It doesn't matter if Schaub throws for 300 yards, Adrian Foster rushes for 100 yard and Andre Johnson catches 10 passes a game if they can't show 7 points each time instead of 3 for it.
The defense last year was literally one of the worst in the history of the league, so they can't do anything but get better this year.
However, with a new 3-4 scheme and little time because of the lockout to actually implement it, it will take some time for the players to get used to it.
If any of the star players get injured and/or suspended for any extended period of time, it could get ugly fast.
