I loved it and still do! I am not bothered by the weather as I will trade a harsh winter for a hot summer anytime. I do miss seeing the seasons change though. I don't like the sprawl and ugliness of the city but love the metropolitan feel of the city. I will be here for a while.

I moved here from rural Missouri (before that, small town north of Dallas, originally from SW Missouri)...I love it here. After running off a snowy/icy road last winter in MO, I'll take the hot summers here anyday. Of course my son is here, which is why I moved in the first place. It took longer than I expected to find a job, but I did find one. I'm a very flexible and adaptable person...I think I even surprised my son.

Not only. The local majority low class Mexican culture is not very accomodating or polite.

Try Pupusa Loca over on Hillcroft. Best ones I've had so far. As far as I can tell they don't cook them until you order them. It takes a bit of a wait but well worth it in my opinion. My wife is Salvadoran and she loves this place as well.

That would be white trash.

Also, I was not implying that if you are Mexican you are low class. However, a significant amount of the local population is made up of the lower class who carry themselves poorly and happen to be Mexican. People here even take pride in being ghetto. If the neck tats and painted on eyebrows don't give it away, then I don't know what does.

I'm always surprised how openly racist people are. Totally different from up north. As an example, up north people don't throw around the very racist word "ghetto". I know people say it has a different meaning in the south, but as far as I'm concerned it's a racist word. And I don't mean to say that everyone is racist.... of course not! I just mean that people that are racist have no problem being very open about it.
