I would hope that folks who move to outer suburban areas that are growing would expect awful traffic, especially on the thoroughfares in the outer suburban areas.

No one would really be that naive to think it will be a 45-mph cruise to the freeway/tollway, would they?

Even when the roads are expanded, it won't get much better.

From Fulshear (359) to 99 can be a harsh drive. Just depends on what time you hit that area. Usually it's not that bad. I think once all the construction vehicles are off the roads then at least some things will ease up. I expect it to be that way for some time and that is just part of growth. It'll get better.

Default HEB heading to the Fulshear Area

From what I understand, and I've not heard any "official" announcement, but a very reliable source told me that they are going to put the HEB on the SWC of Cinco Ranch Blvd and 1463. As of know it looks like the land is clearing. 1093 Expansion is supposed to start in early 2014. And the development that has Wal-Mart in it will break ground in Spring of 2014. Nothing yet slated for the SWC of 1093 and 1463/359.

I would like to know this as well.
Maybe not right now, but with all these new shops the traffic will become a nightmare on that little one-lane road.
They also need to do something about the water that builds up on the side of the roads when it rains.
I can't imagine how bad it will get if we ever get strong rains for a week straight.

Here is a map of the planned road improvement projects.
https://andymeyers.com/clients/andymeyers/Projects.pdf

Looks like there is no plans right now to expand the 1463 at all expect the portion that connects new section of Spring Green to I-10.

Once those traffic lights go up on 1463 along with future HEB... it is going to get worse than better for next couple of years...

You would think that it makes perfect sense to expend the 1463 from 2 lane to 4 lanes. However when you look real hard at this, is there even enough easement available on that road to do this? I am not quite sure.

It's coming. The expansion will happen. Most likely from Fry to 1093 first.

There is plenty of room for a 4 lane roadway and a center turn lane.

FM 1463 is not a top priority for the Houston-Galveston Area Council (committee that allocates funding to area projects). FM 1463 was not included in the 2011-2014 plan, and is not included in the 2013-2016 plan, so it is at least several years out before FM 1463 is addressed (unless some additional funding comes up).

You can view the approved projects here:

It wasn't on the list for the bond approval. What makes 1463 tricky is that half of the road is Fulshear (correct me if I am wrong). Therefore two government entries have to work together to make this happen. It's crazy that this road is still a 2 lane road...
