Nice. Our fire pit has had a lot of use so far. It's been a real hit.

How's progress? You got a date for plaster yet? Excited for y'all - just in time for the start of all the warm weather hopefully!! This past Saturday was our first pool day of the year.

The plaster date would be two days ago.

They still have to buff and acid wash the pebbletec.

I've been let to believe they will begin construction on the kitchen structure this week. This will be good since it allows me to get a bunch of boxes (heater, lights, speakers, etc) out of the house.

I have a similar design. You should've put some jets and lights on the pool water deck (first picture to the left) where the water will be like few inches high. My kids love that spot :-) Also an umbrella hole in the middle works well so you can have an umbrella there. But I guess is too late now :-)

Also make sure you install the cleaning robot, Polaris 280. That will save you a lot of time brother. It takes me 5 minutes every weekend to maintain my pool. Literally 5

There is an umbrella hole in the middle of the tanning shelf.

We didn't do the jets there because two other families we know with jets on their tanning shelves said they never use them. I didn't want another valve and more pipes for something that I doubt I'd use (based on what they said). Less stuff to break/go wrong.

It's kind of the same reason we didn't go with the colored LED lights. Pretty much everyone we spoke with said they didn't use them after the first few weeks. They said, and so did our builder, they are a novelty that's not really worth the money.

Our pool comes with a robot, but I don't know which make or model. Thanks for the suggestion on that.

It's coming out very nice, is that a canal or a river on the background?

It's a canal leading into the lake.

-----------

They polished and acid washed the peebletec yesterday and began filling, so it should be filled today.

They are still on schedule to start building the kitchen structure at the end of the week. I think they will be spraying on the cooldeck after that. There are still some other things here and there, such as a few more steps, the fire pots and completing the fire pit, plus hauling away the debris and extra dirt.

It's all a matter of compromise and budget. I think the regular lights look great when you have pebbletec which is usually so rich in color. I like having the colors, or the ability to have colors, as we went with the white quartz. They get you coming or going, really. Charge a bunch for the upgraded pebble, or a bunch for the lights.

We didn't add bubblers, but we added a couple of fan sprays off the back wall. a) for some sound, as we didn't include a waterfall and b) they really help cool the pool down in the summer. After playing around with them last year we ended up dropping the overall pool temperature about 7-10 degrees just by turning the sprays on.

Our other big add was some stools by the hot tub beam. My wife's excellent idea.
