Was cutting lawn and got stung by a wasp . There is small wasp nest (about 8 inches wide 4"tall) on my fence.

Should I call a professional to remove it?

Consider soaking it from afar with that 20 foot spray wasp killer.

Or you could go to Lowe's or Home Depot and get a wasp spray. They shoot from several feet away - because you don't want to get close. Appears to work immediately. Whoops - I see that stan beat me on the wasp spray.

Go to any Home Depot, Lowes, Ace, Randalls, Kroger, HEB, Walgreens, CVS, Wally World, Target, or any other store that sells bug spray and buy a can of wasp/hornet spray. Spray it on said nest. Problem solved.

They seems to fly elsewhere for the winter. That's when it's safe to knock off or wash away their nests. I do this every winter. They don't seem to come back at the exact same spot. Thus, it prevented the nests from getting big.

I have done it many times. Just soak their nest with a wasp jet spray. Do it late in the evening or at night when they are inactive..

Well I'd rather not kill them but it's kind of dangerous having them near the house since I have a child which of course will not go near the nest.

I'm also concerned for the lawn guys they will get stung like I did. Is there a chance the nest may grow bigger?

Post a picture of the nest, please. Yes, the nest might get bigger.
