LMFAO @ Forbes using traffic pics of Houston in the late 80's-early 90's. Goes to show how credible they are...
One of the photos in the first post is Hurricane Rita evacuation I think (the second one).

Traffic sure is terrible there now with all the construction, but once completed it will help alleviate congestion a lot.
Then add into that some (hopeful) commuter rail for the West, NW, SW, and SE corridors, and you have some needed help.

This is TOTALLY a hurricane evacuation picture...probably Rita (because Ike's wasn't that bad)!!! You can tell because there are no other cars coming the other direction, and the HOV lane is at a stand-still!! Why on earth would they use this kind of traffic to compare Dallas and Chicago traffic?? I don't see either one of those cities trying to evacuate 1 million + people at once!!!

Chicago has much worse traffic than Houston. But then again, Forbes hasn't exactly right about much lately, have they? "Just ride it out! Your 401K will be fine!".

I've lived in both cities and I thought Chicago was much worse...about the same number of people in both areas except the Lake covers the East side, so all traffic is N, W or S. The gulf is 30 minutes from downtown so traffic is more spread out.

I can't disagree about Atlanta having the worst traffic in the USA. Yes, LA is quite bad but at least traffic moves there. Houston and LA are well-supplied with lengthy boulevards that alleviate the freeways. It doesn't seem that way in the ATL in comparison.

people in houston like to hit their brakes for no reason, or wait until the last moment then they stand on their brakes.

If Houston isn't bad yet, just wait a few years, it will get worse.
