A good rule of thumb is that is the neighborhood has an adorable nickname (i.e. Greenspoint/Gunspoint, Sharpstown/Shankstown) or there is a carnival permanently stationed outside the closest mall or grocery store, it's probably not a good part of town.

Yeah, but since I heard it's scary on city-data.com, it must be. Maybe they're really scared of me.

I had to laugh at that one. That could be a whole other thread, you can't be a proper hood without a carnival at the local dying mall. You do, however, get bonus points for a Palace Inn motel or a rent-a-tire place.
