Even better is the developer is giving 10,000 dollars to help Lee County tornado victims.
In addition the Poarch Band of Creek Indians are paying for all 23 funeral expenses.
Developers today announced the latest building and tenant in the large commercial park they are building just outside Redstone Arsenal’s gates in Huntsville.

“Georgia Tech Research Institute will occupy half of the space” in a new building under construction at Redstone Gateway, developer Paul Adkins told a groundbreaking audience.

The new building is one story with 76,000 square feet of office space.

110 million downtown Federal Courthouse update

The federal General Services Administration is managing the project, and the Huntsville City Council formally gave the GSA access to the site in late February to begin surveys, environmental studies and other early work. The basic timeline for the construction is two years for planning and design and two years for construction.

City Administrator John Hamilton said Friday that the GSA is hiring a “bridging architect” to get started. A design architect will be chosen later. A “pre-bid meeting” was held in Huntsville earlier this week to hear the federal judges who will sit in Huntsville discuss their needs and preferences for the new courtrooms and offices.

Is the courthouse site restricted by the infamous underground caves that run through downtown?

No
That myth should die
Yes there are select areas that have caves but nothing to really impact construction downtown
What does impact the site is a small are that is in the floodplain and it will be raised to be out of it. No part of the building will even be built in the part anyway.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what this building will look like, and actually seeing construction starting. It should be a really nice building for $110M or so. The one in Mobile is awesome, and it was a good deal less costly.

Man, when I Was stationed in SK, we loved going to the "Beef and Leaf" pay $10 + drinks and eat all you want....of course I'm sure it won't be the same, where you go get your own meat from the fridge....and bring it back to your table....but it looks interesting....and we'll be going there....
