Where did that sentiment come from? This whole situation is sad...but it is what it is.
To spin this story, to point out some phantom hypocrisy[on who's part?] is to much of a stretch...
As I read the story, the reporter did not mention any condemnation for the US for the deportations of these minor children, niether did any Mexican official; so where is this suppose condemnation comming from?
..."turn on the light and see if there is a black cat in the room".
So this
""Tijuana.- Without a parent to hold their hands or calm the butterflies in their stomachs, 1,858 children were deported to this city in the last 13 months, federal authorities said.
They had traveled to the United States mainly to reunite with their parents or, secondly, to find work. But in the course of pursuing their dream many had endured ordeals they won’t easily forget.""
isn't designed to tug at out heart strings and make us feel guilty? Really?
ummm, ok. if you say so

Yes it is. But they leave out the part that the parents abandoned these children long before. Children do sometimes try to come over to search for parents they haven't seen in many years, sad, lonely children who were left to be raised on the streets by parents who love dollars more than their own children.
Or the parents turned them over to cartel smugglers and the children are used as drug mules in the process, or abandoned in the desert.
I'm glad the Mexican government is doing something for these kids. I think in recent years, it has made a lot of effort to do something for the thousands of street children.
One of the very dark sides of illegal immigration is that many illegals have abandoned children back home. Or they left behind a wife and many kids that she cannot care for or her new man doesn't want the kids around.

This breaks my heart. But, we cannot take them all. There are children in this country today who are beaten, stabbed, molested, tortured and killed and we have so few resources to fight it. HOw can we take on more ? I say charity begins at home......
There are thousand of CHILDREN ages 8-18 who immigrage illegally to the U.S. by themselves. Often times they come from El Salvador, Guatemala, Oaxaca, etc. farther than Mexico and they travel on top of trains. This is obviously very dangerous but they do it because they are tired of living in poverty and they want to help out their parents. They usually do it behind their parents back. No parent, I would like to think, would allow their child to put their life in jeopardy not even in other countries. So this is why their parents aren't with them, because they immigrate by themselves believe it or not. Watch "Which Way Home" and get educated on this topic.
My dad actually migrated here to work at the age of 16 by himself. It happens VERY often.
2000 down, how many more to go? And of course, it is the fault of the United States, for deporting these poor, defenseless children...we should keep them here, and give them citzenship...no matter what. Hmm...where are the parents of these children in orphanages in Mexico? Any family? Grandparents? Sad, these children are suffering, because their parents have abandoned them. That is the worst part about this whole story.
First very well said, and very well stated. I do agree. So sad for the children, no matter what we feel about the parents.
However this is not the fault of the US IN anyway, these parents need to consider the consequences of their illegals actions, and that of their childrens well being, before migrating here illegally.

The Mexican Government should feel responsible and guilt at the same time, for their people, and these children!
