It's also very odd that Democrats are fighting like crazy to maintain a status quo system that allows millions of illegal aliens to handle the US food supply. What about the security of our food supply? Why should Americans trust people who are here illegally? There's no accountability when a person can just haul ass back across the border if something goes wrong.

I see Georgia's unemployment rate is 9.8% and Alabama's is 9.6%. Have the farmers who lost their illegal immigrant workers posted any announcements in town that they're now hiring legal American workers?

If you're unemployed would you work for a farmer picking fruits and vegetables in the fields? I would for sure. Some money is better than no money.

I would but the pro-illegal crowd sure doesn't want to admit that anyone would. They want to make it seem like illegals are the only people on the planet capable or willing to pick cucumbers in Alabama which we all know is BS.

I did as a child, living in Southern Georgia, as a summer job. I actually enjoyed it. Taught me the value of hard work and having a strong work ethic.

Americans who know the value of hard work and have strong work ethics don't vote Democrat very often.

Yes, I have noticed that tendency.

Actually, what's going on right now in Georgia is proving you wrong. Millions are going to be lost due to crops rotting on the fields. Interesting how everyone chose to ignore my comment a few pages back.

Although they aren't sure how much has been lost, they are going to have a study to see how much farmers are actually losing. Pretty brilliant idea, isn't it? You'd think those who propose such laws like the ones in Georgia would have had studies beforehand to estimate the impact.

I'm going to say it's all about getting Mexicans out of here as fast as possible because a bunch of white people are scared of Mexican culture taking over the country. Why not? Several of you have said the only reason liberals want the illegals here is for votes on the Democrat side.

If you want to play simplistic, I'll gladly play along also.

Things are SO bad in Georgia, that they tried some program to reduce prisoners sentences and even let some go, after picking for a season. Most of the convicts said, no. And those that did say yes they would try, didn't go back the second day, and dropped out of it.

Georgia unemployment is 9.8% higher than the national average, and our seasonal part time unemployment is around 15%.

Yes, because absence of all 3% of illegals who work in agriculture will surely double the cost of food.

Why do liberals think agricultural fields employ like 100+ illegals per field?
