And yes, chicagonut, if you make a law requiring hispanics to prove their legality upon demand, yeah, that's kinda racist. It's pretty amazing that someone would have to explain that to an adult. Oh, and pointing this out is (again) not "playing the race card". Hey, here's an idea: if you don't want people using the word "racist" to describe you, maybe you should stop supporting BLATANTLY racist policies. Just a thought.
62 percent of illegal immigrants in U.S. from Mexico
Mexicans represented 62 percent of the nation's undocumented immigrant population in 2009, according to a new report by the Department of Homeland Security.
The report shows that the percentage of undocumented immigrants who are Mexican also grew from 55 percent in 2000 to 62 percent in 2009.
Well, I am a Democrat, I just vote for the best candidate, not party. I am an American citizen first.
As am I. I vote based on the candidate that best reflects my own values and who will represent the majority, not some special interest groups and who has respect for our laws and will uphold them.

It's the majority, that's why!!
So that's your justification to infringe on the rights of legal Mexican-American citizens? "Hey the majority of illegals are of your race so we're just going to you know, ask for ID....." That's like the definition of racial profiling. lol
I have no idea what the law is. I was just assuming Chicagonut was talking about some hypothetical law that she wanted to see. It doesn't really matter, we're talking about what Chicagonut thinks, not what any one particular law says.
In other words, your comments weren’t actually in response to anything she said. Rather, it was an attempt to portray our immigration laws as being discriminatory. But, when asked to post said discriminatory laws, you can’t, so you pretend your comments were in response to an ASSUMED hypothetical law by chicagonut, despite the fact that she had not said or implied anything to give the impression that she was referencing a hypothetical law. In fact, she actually mentioned a REAL law, SB1070. C’mon, let’s not play game.

And I would add to this that there are no racist policies or laws in place against Hispanic-citizens. Just more lies and smears by the pro-illegals.

The bill in Arizona isn't limited to people driving a car. It gives the police the power to stop ANYONE they "reasonably suspect" may be illegally in the country (even if they aren't suspected of any other crime) and arrest them if they don't have any documentation.
Please cite your source. It is my understanding they must have probable cause AFTER stopping someone for violating a law. They can’t simply stop a person because they “suspect” them of being in the country illegally. That’s utter BS, and you know it.
