I suppose the open borders crowd will only say Americans don't want or need help to pay for tuition. Illegals with their unreported incomes will certainly have the great advantage and will be moved to the front of the financial aid lines. Even their college has to be handed to them at taxpayer expense. Illegals think they're too good for those lowly jobs now and Obama is doing all he can to cater to them.

More than 20,000 college-bound students are seeking state financial aid for the first time under California's new Dream Act laws that allow them to get the help despite their immigration status.

From what I understand, non-citizens have been eligible to receive federal money for school. After all, the colleges first priority is, diversity.

For higher education[college] no. no federal funds for higher education.

If a state wishes to
1) allow illegal aliens to attend higher education, then that is up to the people of that state to decided and fund.

2) if a state allows illegal alien students to attend public colleges and universtities, most will also allow IA students to pay the "in-state" tuition rate. I dont know of any state that pays the tuition of any IA student to public college. Any scholorships used are not federally funded.

3) private scholarships and attendance to private Universities is not baned.

Illegals shouldn't get one thin dime of public money to attend college.

I knew about several students who had grants and scholarships to attend school. While I have no problems with qualified students receiving financial aid, I do have problems with people who knowingly broke the law and on top of that, apply for and get financial aid. I tried to argue my point before being dismissed as a xenophobe (ironic because I am a legal immigrant myself).

The problem also lies with colleges who accept these students, the government for failing to address the issue, and the idiots who work in administration for granting scholarships and grants to these students.

There is no federal finacial aid for illegal alien students. If the State provides it, it is State funds. A grant or scholarship does not mean Federal money.

There are a ton of grants and scholarships that come from private groups and organizations.

McDonalds, Coca-cola, NAACP, La Raza Unida, LULAC...to name a few.

It is never this way. If the people could vote on this, they would vote it down. Americans want immigration laws enforced. I think the issue of non-citizens going to college is about receiving the in-state tuition rate.

Ok, I should have clarified. They were State grants. Also, the bold is an extremist organization, am I right?
