Arizona also has its Army National Guard, which is a component of the United States Army and the United States National Guard. Arizona has the Department of Public Safety, which provides Arizona State Troopers. There are also police departments in every city and incorporated town, plus each county has its own Sheriff and Deputies.

Also, Arizona recognizes that all American citizens have the right to bear arms, as provided for in the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution.

Quote:
"The right of the individual citizen to bear arms in defense of himself or the state shall not be impaired, but nothing in this section shall be construed as authorizing individuals or corporations to organize, maintain or employ an armed body of men."---Excerpt from the Constitution from the State of Arizona. Section 26. Bearing Arms.

My 88 year old father in law owns a home in Mexico and just across the border in AZ. He has been there 30 years. He doesn't carry a gun (although he is a veteran and can handle one just fine), doesn't live in fear, and has surely had migrants coming across his property (or close to it), but has had zero problems. I'm sure if migrants did come across the border he would give them food, water, and assistance if they appeared to be in need. He wouldn't live anywhere else.

All 3 areas have a low crime rate. In fact, most border cities on the US side have a low crime rate, the high crime is right across the border in Mexico.

The notion of “dangerous illegals” is VASTLY overrated and overblown as an issue. If you live in the Arizona Borderlands region, you’re the last person an illegal wants to come into contact with. They do not want to remain in the area, and their ultimate goal is to reach a big American city or any community where they can just blend in and find work.

As for the drug activity, there’s nothing that can be done about it. Americans have an insatiable appetite for dope, and they’ll have them come hell or high water. Drug activity moves so stealthily across the border that you forget it even happens. You’re not gonna encounter any drug runners or cartel members. They’re professionals...it’s what they do. They aren’t a gang of cowboys shooting it out with people. They’re very structured and sophisticated organizations. They save the shoot em up crap for when they’re in Mexico fighting for the best drug routes. They have NO intention of attracting the attention of American law enforcement by doing harm to American citizens. That’s bad for business.

Yeah, it does seem unlikely. After all, they should just get caught at the border. Then they will get bused up to Gilbert, Scottsdale, or where ever else, put up in a hotel, fed, clothed, guarded from the public, given free legal aid, and then free transport further into the country. All of that courtesy of the American taxpayer.

All first world nations have extensive deportation procedures. I’d like the process to be a lot faster and less bureaucratic, but we’ve still gotta be the United States of America.

Yeah, but right now, we have an importation procedure.

Don't be absurd. We've always had a procedure for processing immigrants. Many of our grand and great-grandparents can likely speak to it first-hand.

Don't be so absurd. Our country's immigration laws were completely different when my grandparents came over from Poland. And even more so when my other great-great-greats came over from England.

In the 70's, folks who came here illegally were deported right away, every time they got caught. They certainly were not housed in hotels, with catered food, armed guards, clothing, free legal aid, and then bused or flown further into the country to 'await' their court hearing(s).

And then there's this:
