Can it be racist when it's applied equally to all illegals, regardless of their background? I'm just as opposed to illegal Poles, and I am Indians or Pakistanis, as I am Chinese, as I am Cubans...I don't care WHERE they come from, as long as they go BACK wherever that is.
Of course not.
Just when a certain group has an agenda; they will do whatever it takes, it seems, to get their way.
If it means throwing the 'race card'......so be it------never mind that such a stunt tends to backfire very badly at times.
Case in point: the putative 'Hispanic' leadership has quite possibly endangered the well being of any individual (of any actual race/ethnicity) who looks like a stereotypical Latino by chanting stuff like 'Brown Power' etc.
I dont think all people who are vocal against illegal immigration are racist, but many many are. Even if they don't consider themselves racist.
White, or Black, it doesnt really matter.
Take for instance, this PM I received on this forum a week or so ago. Note the person didnt want to post in public to look racist, so instead PM'ed me:
Quote:
First of all, South-of-the-borderans are not Latin. They just dont like to accept the fact that they are Mexican, Salvadorian, Cuban, Puerto
Rican (dark, stubby-legged, stalky looking and unskilled, uneducated, and always unempoyed. In case you didnt know before, "Latins come from Europe and are typically very nice looking".
Secondly, Dont ever compare Mexicans to Italians. Italians are extremely good-looking, clever, business-minded, hard-working, educated, and have money. Italian men actually look like "men". Mexican men look like ugly little trolls. And, this is why they will never be accepted, no matter how many times they try to change the name of their ethnicticity. Accept it.

Who did you get this DM from amc? You need to alert one of the moderators. It is a serious infraction and the person is racist. Please report this DM on the moderator forum.

I didnt report it since it was sent as a DM. Arizona bear says he already reported someone making the same comment so my guess is, it was someone just trolling around, because the profile doesn't seem to be active other than those posts.
LOL. Sometimes you just have to laugh at the ignorant idiots you encounter on the net. So many people, who are naturally timid, get bold as Hercules when it comes to voicing their opinion on the internet. I bet that dude seriously got his feelings hurt when you compared Mexicans to Italians. I'm actually laughing at the thought of some internet tough guy banging his keyboard over what you said.

And the irony is that Argentines are Hispanic-----yet, 40% of that nations ancestors hail from Italy.
So; yes, a person of 100% Italian heritage can be a 'Hispanic' quite easily.
Just like Dario Franchitti; the race car driver is a Scotsman (born and raised there) but his people also came from Italy.

Argentina is one of the exceptions of a Latin American country being primarily white. They are largely descendants of Italians as well as some other euro nationalities. To me, it even sounds like they talk Spanish in an Italian accent.
However that person seemed to be referring to Mexicans of native descent as well as probably mestizos.

actually, i think it might have been a girl. the username was lovemafiaboys. it was either a girl with a thing for italians(probably watching too much Growing Up Gotti) or a guy who was into rough trade.
Anti-immigration protester: "I'm not racist, I just want people to follow the law. It makes me sick walking down the street and seeing all these illegals."
Person the protester is talking to: "How do you know they're illegal?"
Anti-immigration protester: "Because they look Mexican!"
Funny stuff! But seriously, this is an angle that can be used effectively by pro illegal immigration traitors. I am glad that most of us here are concerned about illegal immigration, not about any particular race. In the thread about Irish illegals wanting special treatments, I don't believe there is a single person supporting them. That shows people here don't favor one race over another. An illegal is an illegal.
