Of course, those who advocate an enforcement-only approach also offer economic arguments to support their position. One of their key sources has been Harvard professor George Borjas, who has argued that cumulative immigration over the previous 15 years contributed to a 3 percent decline in the wages of U.S. workers.
This spring, however, Borjas revised his previous research to conclude that the effect on the average wages of U.S. workers from all immigration, documented and undocumented, was exactly zero percent. An immigration policy that continues to obsess over an impact that may be close to zero is one that has lost perspective.
If you were to coolly assess the economic impact of immigration,
you'd think that more significant facts and figures would inform the debate
Marcela Sanchez - On Immigration, It's the Economy, Stupid - washingtonpost.com

Good read.

An article by a Latina, challenging the vague statistics people base their argument off of? On the Washington Post?

Dont be a hero, Blacknight. You can bet nobody's even going to read it before they start belting out their catchphrases(like above).

Seriously though, good post.
The anti-illegal crowd will agree with ANYTHING a person says that they agree with, but if that person ends up saying he/she was wrong, they won't accept it and will ignore it. Happens all the time in this debate.

I agree. The Washington Post is a very biased newspaper. However, ALL newspapers seem to be biased these days - one way, or another.

This country is so polarized that I find it hard that we'll be around as a country in 10 years (perhaps less).

Sad.

Yes, we are now witnessing the insidious demise of a once great and powerful nation.

And what was that quote? Without having to fire a single bullet? It is tragic.

Even sadder, we are being destroyed by our own government with the help of millions of illiterate, 3rd world illegal aliens.
