Four years of college ... almost a $100,000 discount, if you're an illegal alien, to go to University of Texas. If you're a United States citizen from any one of the other 49 states, you have to pay $100,000 more. That doesn't make sense to me.”
How can anyone condone charging out-of-state citizens more than illegal aliens? In addition, how is it fair to charge LEGAL foreign students higher tuition rates than foreigners in this country illegally?

Isn't in-state tuition based on whether you physically reside in a state?...
Illegals should not be attending schools here to begin with.
I just read the link you posted. Perry's defense is so weak. He really thinks that spending money on the fence (that's worth nothing, anyway, since the illegals keep coming) compensates for giving the illegals all that help to go to college?
What a shame, considering all the trouble that legal immigrants have to face to be considered for in-state tuition. (No, I'm not talking about F-1 and similar, but those who have been living here).

Yes, but illegal aliens do not LEGALLY reside in ANY state. Therefore, why should they receive preferential treatment over citizens, or foreigners legally admitted to attend college?
Furthermore, why should taxpaying citizens subsidize the tuition of illegal aliens?

Agree.
One of the alternatives suggested is allow illegals to go to college but with no subsidies. I am against this also since it takes away a seat that would have been otherwise gone to a legal / citizen. We really need to remove the magnets we have in place, and enforce existing laws - that will be way more effective than a fence.
i guess perry doesn't respect all the laws of the united states, just some of them.
what part of the word lawbreaker don't you understand?
we already have a president who chooses to reward bad behavior(s) and we can see where that is taking our country.
shame on you, perry, and the "heartless" lecture part was flat out annoying.
