South Florida's large Republican Hispanic vote delivered for McCain, signifying another case where Romney's hard line on immigration backfired. The state's three Cuban-American congressional members appeared with McCain in Miami's "Little Havana."
The Cuban-American vote was pinned down with the endorsement by Sen. Mel Martinez, the national Republican party's former chairman. More lethal than a mere endorsement was the word spread by Martinez that he considers Romney a demagogue because of his tough stand against the immigration bill co-sponsored by McCain and Martinez

I see.

So, what you're saying is that Florida's Cuban-American population is a group of racists? Got it!

Where did you get that from? Hardliners on immigration don't do well with hispanics.

Why, pray tell, would that be? Because most illegals are hispanic? Hmmm... Sounds racist to me.

Most illegal immigrants in this country are Hispanic. That's not racist, that's a fact.

You missed the point.

The OP suggests that McCain won the hispanic vote because he supports "their people," and because Romney opposes "their people."

But does it really need to be said? Just fix the problems.

Cubans have a whole different set of immigration criteria. Nothing in immigration reform will, nor should, change it.

I don't see why Cubans would care? Cubans get automatic entry into the United States. They're also amongst the whitest Hispanic communities in the nation, some of the least likely to buy into the "Hispanic" cherade, and typically the most conservative.

Frankly; if a bunch of so-called 'Hispanics' (or anybody else for that matter) are upset over our country growing some balls and 'cleaning house' re: the illegal immigrants--------------too bad!

If said individuals have a problem with lawbreakers being tossed out; the former can themselves leave the USA and never come back.
