U of Illinois is highly rated in many areas, especially physics. DH gave up an opportunity to go to Berkeley for grad school to go to U of I instead. Get a USNews and World Report college guide and you will see some objective criteria.

Engineering, physics, chemistry is second to few in the country. I wouldn't go there trying to get an English degree, but it's a darn good school.

For an English degree you really need to go to a small, liberal arts college. If you can't afford that, you may as well go to U of I if you're an Ill. resident.

Default Wisconsin: Not For Me.

I've been in Wisconsin once in 60 years. It's a waste of time and good money.

This thread is a waste of time and space.

Hopefully the troll does not see this thread being dug up.

Ugh.

I could swear your all up in Wisconsin all the time anyway...I declare you a suburb of WISCONSIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

ENJOY YOU ARE NOW OUR SUBJECTS!!!

by the way if you like it up here so much why don't you live here instead of the flat land???

Cheers

also is there anything to do in Illinois??? always wondered why you travel so far. Don't you have anything there to do?? Don't you have a lake or a park or anything??
Well, if you prefer, I could take my vacation money and go spend it in Indiana, Michigan or Iowa instead. AND if enough "flatlanders" did this, you would be facing state budget cuts or higher taxes.
I go to WI., because just about everyone I meet is friendly and a whole lot more open-minded than you are. Unfortunatley, IL is difficult to camp in. Antiquated reservation system and too many parks operating on first come -first serve basis. So we go to WI because it's scenic and close and has a good DNR.

Hey be nice.. I'm a Wisconsinite.... Berries if from the northwoods and he's always about not wanting tourist up there... He has been praising this crappy economy since less people are going up there... I personally don't mind Illinois folk, they bring in tons of revunue... Without them many of the high school students here who depend on tourist trap jobs would be without money!

Don't mind him... I say close the thread..

Oh, I think Berries’ thread is quite funny—someone from Wisconsin badgering the folks from Illinois.

LMAO.

University of Chicago is also in Illinois, as is Northwestern...both high-end private schools.
University of Illinois is one of the best public universities in the country, their engineering program is amongst the top few in the country.

I have a feeling you got confused about the universities in Illinois.

FYI- The only school in the league of U of I in the entire state of MO is Washington University and it costs about 45k a year. My sister got her masters there.
