Hello,

I am thinking of moving to Princeton, IL. How are the elementary schools? Daycares? Crime? Activities for Kids? Will Princeton be welcoming to my family? Colleges?

I believe the historic town of Princeton Illinois has someone for old and young alike.Small town, quiet living only 90 miles from the Western suburbs of Chicago. Excellent schools, park district, seasonal festivals, low crime rate and variety of affordable housing minus the Chicago taxes.
Main street offers the restored Apollo movie theater, boutiques, clothing stores, restaurant's,coffee shoppers and bakeries, just to name a few attractions on South and North Main st.
An added bonus to living in Princeton is having an Amtrack station in town. Two hour train ride to union station, and one hour to Naperville Illinois.
A nice place to call home.

I wouldn’t bother replying. She keeps posting the same question every so often.

No idea how anybody can say that "schools are good" -- on the weak PARCC test only 25% of elementary students are "ready for the next level" -- https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/D...id=28006115002

The high school has a whooping 38% "proficient" on the SAT -- https://iircapps.niu.edu/Apps_3_0/en...m/helper.html#

Princeton still has a video store, that's unique. It also has a covered bridge. It has four flags by Interstate 80.

Ignore the PARCC (read CCRAP) tests. I don't hold much faith in them, nor the Common Core aligned SAT.

BTW, I thought Illinois took the ACT. I never took the SAT when in high school but did take the ACT, so I'm not sure where you're getting SAT scores from, unless Bureau County does it differently.

You are behind the curve. IL now uses the SAT. Nothing wrong with the updated version either. Your complaints are unfounded and likely based on political bias.
