An Illinois state trooper told me gas stations along the interstates in Illinois wouldn't accept state credit cards for purchasing fuel because the state government weren't paying their bills. What a mess! Run, don't walk outta there before it implodes around you.

I was in Chicago yesterday, and the street were packed, no litter, very few homeless, most storefronts not only occupied but packed with shoppers, in a beautiful city that is vibrant and alive. We were in Lincoln Park and wanted to go to the zoo; it was all reserved. We went out to eat in a crowded restaurant, needed reservation. Went home at 11 PM to the suburbs, traffic and people on the streets in the Loop. A magnificent city that is a feast for the eyes.

You can keep your DeSantis who is one of the worst governors along with Abbott in Texas; your mass shootings in Miami, and your politics. You can also keep your humidity, and your hurricanes. Chicago is going no place. Look in the City v City forum on City Data; it is the most consistantly like city in the U.S.

WHEN WAS THIS? When Rauner the Republican was governor and the state was paralyzed and money was frozen from an impass because Rauner wouldn't budge? As a guy whose mother is from Dorchester, MA, a guy who went to and graduated from BC and lived in Brookline for his first job, Massachusetts is no better. Sky high real estate, the highest unemployment rate in the U.S. during the pandemic, and dumps like Brockton and Springfield and you are advising Illinoisans to run? I love how these out of staters come in and advise us what to do.

Thank for taking the time to educate us on Illinois. Although it was challenging trying to understand your post with spelling errors and the format used. I'm happy you have found paradise and I wish I was as smart as you and figured out things. Hopefully I will catch on soon. Thanks again and enjoy living in the perfect state you relocated to.

States that were lower and lessor now higher and till the cheaper for its metros rise and rise even more.... they will continue if Corporate America still maintains the move. Time will tell. Once a Independence movement of a state occurs? A wrench could be seen as hurting this region??? It will the Nation as a whole and Globally .... but it WILL COME. Part of the Pre-One-World-Order...fall of our Empire before they can have our spoils..... We then gave them a way in for sure. I am sure someone knows here everyone cannot move to these current Daring-States or nearby states with high poverty but dirt cheap everything else. It can be dirt cheap in Northern states to with more depressed areas of the state not growing WFH could have you live there much much cheaper too with land and .....

Florida was all hope does not loss beach-front property or its watertable be more compromised. It may see fit to take more measures if ocean waters rise as Miami/Miami Beach did. I say the state should do the bulk and well you get taxed more.... it is for a cause that by them cannot be denied IF TRUE. Might be 50yrs out but more hurricanes not helping ... before such issues get deep past you claiming MOVE TO FLORIDA TO ESCAPE IL TAXES. Always areas of huge demand .... only have prices go up. Growth keeps ahead but will not last forever. Wealth continually must be made to keep up with those in most demand areas.

Texas clearly has much more land. No off the hook from hurricanes for sure and calamities keep coming and new ones.... what is next sometimes we think..... ok SEND FEMA again. Rebuild homes. Offer cheaper insurance. So then can keep building.
