I live in Greencastle and while there are cool things in nearby areas, fun festivals and all that, nothing for me beats southern Indiana. I love the AP friendly, natural living scene in Bloomington, the architecture and history of Columbus, and the overall landscape that encompasses the whole area.

I enjoyed spending summers in Central Indiana with my distant family away from my parents in Mississippi while growing up. My best memories were going on family trips to IU and Brown County, swimming at the lake outside Cicero (Hamilton County), having fun at Indiana State Fair, and cheering at Indy 500 Speedway with my silly, favorite cousin who happens to be a NASCAR fanatic.

To me, Central Indiana is the best region to live in terms of big-city amenties but for beautiful landscape, I prefer southern Indiana especially Bloomington. Believe it or not, I did applied to the Graduate School at IU along with other schools. However, I am more likely to pick other school. My favorite cousin (IU student himself) will be disappointed to hear that I am currently leaning towards the University of Wisconsin in Madison.

I am most familiar with Northeast Indiana, having been born and raised, and now once again living in Northwest Ohio. I remember fondly my dad's company picnics we went to at Pokagon State Park when I was a kid. His boss always had a roll of tickets there that we could tear off and use for ice cream at the concession stand, and the beach was just beautiful. We have also visited Brown County a couple of times as well as Madison, Columbus, and trips home from Oxford and Hamilton Ohio up US 27. We had a picnic at Oubache State Park at Bluffton for Labor Day this year and had a wonderful day. We always enjoy any visit we make to Indiana.
