First, any city that builds a new stadium is basically guaranteed one at this point if they want it. You'll have Atlanta get another one when they build a new stadium. If the Chargers ever upgrade from that tenement they play in, San Diego will get back into the regular rotation.

Then you have all of the cities that are a permanent part of the rotation because of their location/weather: Miami, New Orleans, Arizona, Tampa, etc. Dallas will be automatic for another one at some point.

Finally, I think you will see big market cities make a push for it in the future since the New York one was pretty successful. I won't be surprised at all if a city like Chicago, DC, Boston/New England, Philly, etc makes a push for it. It would be difficult for the NFL to tell a Chicago no if they put a nice bid together.

It's just going to be hard for Indianapolis to find a way to overcome all of that, especially since they don't have the new stadium card anymore. Also, while Lucas Oil Stadium might seem big to us, it's the third smallest stadium in the NFL. Chicago and Oakland are the only stadiums with less seating capacity. The NFL can sell thousands and thousands of more tickets in other venues.

I'd be pretty surprised if Indy got another one within the next 15 years.

I'm sure he's crying into his kool-aid and having meetings with all his political buddies.

Don't know. But Hamilton County. Ohio residents paid for a new football stadium via higher taxes.

Understood, but the city would at least have to ask for it. To my knowledge, they haven't.

Hopefully Indy won't try again for a few more years. Atlanta will likely bid and get it in 2019 for the new $1 billion stadium they're building. Miami is supposed to be building a new stadium here very soon and will likely get the 2020 game since they haven't had it in quite a while and we know the NFL loves going to Miami. If San Diego ever gets around to building a new stadium I could see them bidding and getting the 2021 game. The NFL definitely has a record of giving the game to new stadiums. Indy, Detroit, Houston, Dallas, New York, San Francisco coming up, now Minneapolis.

Cincinnati's Paul Brown stadium is open-air, not a dome. It is also small, only 65,009 seats instead of the 70,000 required by the NFL. (Lucas Oil managed to land a Super Bowl with 69,000 seats)

Cincinnati metro does have the required number of hotel rooms (25,000 within one hour of the stadium) and much higher population than Indy's metro area.

I was expecting our friend Timmy to come back and tell us about how he told us Indy was going to lose. I wonder if he drank himself silly in celebration, and got himself sick. Wondering if we should send a search party.
