You should have stated,
Prostrating during prayer is part of humanity [by some].
If humanity prostrate facing away from Mecca [nearest direction] during prayer then it is not Islamic but unislamic.
The point is what is Islamic is dictated by the Quran only.
The Quran dictated 'what is eeman' specifically [strictly] via the 6 pillars of eeman [in various verses and terms].
