Well, this is embarrassing...or perhaps whoever made this list is wrong on all accounts.
I agree. I lived in KCMO for 14 years. It should be on the awokened city list.

Larger cities are always going to be more dynamic, and considering how the far right wing most of the rural areas around it are faring (mostly poorly), it isn't overly surprising.
One of the bigger advantages of the KC region used to be the cost of living, and that is no longer advantage with housing and other items being far more expensive compared to 5-10 years ago- even compared to other metro areas around the region.

... by a redneck, clearly, or someone from Joisey.

Do you guys realize how many flipping FANTASTIC restaurants the KC metro has for its size and (way more so, even) reputation???

And KC has so much other stuff that's SO FLIPPING COOL besides just its innovative, insane, award-winning restaurants.

But if we want to start proving idiots wrong, that'd be the place to start.

(And by "restaurants," I'm largely not talking about barbecue joints. In fact, I'm pretty much entirely not. KC barbecue is awesome, though. Arthur Bryant's is best. <3)

Incredibly busy today, so this'll be all for now. But! In parting:

"You broke my heart
'Cause I couldn't dance
You didn't even want me around
And now I'm back
To let you know
I can really shake 'em down"

(And that's a wrap.)

(And, yeah, wraps -- all the rage in the Midwest, ca. 1993 (complete with crunchy, fresh greens!) -- haven't hit the D.C. suburbs yet.)

Wah Wah, Jerry's.... (Those are pretty much your only two options, in the D.C. suburbs, and they're into hot sandwiches. Hot and greasy. No veggies. Oh, onions. I forgot about the onions.)

Those would be hillbillies, not rednecks.
