Honestly, I dont know much about dental work and assume that if they have their own practice that they will do a good job.

I just like a dentist that gets me in and out in a fair amount of time. I hate having to sit in the chair for an hour for a standard cleaning. I once got left in a chair with all this **** stuck in my mouth for like 45 minutes. Very uncomfortable and I was on the verge of pulling everything out and leaving when the dentist finally came to see me.

What criteria do I use to determine if a dentist is good?

To start with - like one dentist I saw up north after the one I had been going to retired - they don't demand I have hundreds of dollars of unnecessary work done! This dentist wouldn't do a routine cleaning on me unless I had root planing and who knows what else done! I was going back to Dallas where I grew up, so I made an appt with my old dentist there. He said it was a bunch of bull, and all I needed was a good cleaning!

So I foud another dentist. Then about a year later I ended up having a cavity - my very first one ever. His recommendation was to "just wait until it starts hurting and then pull it out!" Ha! I found another dentist and had a very successful root canal done. A good dentist will do what he can to help me keep the teeth I've got!

I might be a bit late, but...

I TOTALLY miss Dr. DeAun Regan over on Main Street in Parkville. She is the best dentist I ever had. I can't recommend her highly enough. One person office, friendly staff, great practice.
